Summer parties mean more people are probably going to be consuming alcohol. Sadly, that means that there is likely to be an influx of drunk drivers on the roadways. Those drunk drivers pose a risk to you and everyone who happens to be on the roadway with them. If you are going to be out and about this summer, make sure you know the signs of a drunk driver so you can stay as far away as possible.
Drunk drivers are likely to drive in an erratic manner. They might drive must faster than the speed limit or much slower. In some cases, they will weave in and out of traffic lanes. In some cases, the weaving might be more of a slow drifting in and out of lanes.
There are some other signs to be aware of as well. Drunk drivers might not react in a quick manner to traffic signals. They might not signal correctly and are likely to slam on their brakes without warning or need.
When you see signs of a drunk driver, you should try to stay away. If you are somewhere that you can pull over and alert police, you might opt to do that. Of course, that isn’t always possible. In some cases, you might end up being struck by the drunk driver. That crash could lead to serious injuries that require medical care. Seeking compensation is something that you might opt to do if you are injured in a drunk driving accident. You can do this even if the driver is facing criminal charges.
