A tragic car accident involving an alleged drunk driver has claimed three lives in Arlington, Texas. The accident occurred on Sunday, Nov. 9, at about 2 a.m. The crash occurred at the intersection of the Interstate 20 service road and Matlock Road. All three women who died were in the same vehicle. According to police reports, the driver of the other vehicle, a 38-year-old man, was intoxicated when the crash occurred. The driver of the vehicle that was struck, a 26-year-old female, passed away at the hospital on Wednesday, Nov. 12. Another 26-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the accident scene. The third woman, 19, was taken to the hospital after the wreck but did not survive. One other passenger in the vehicle was also injured but is expected to survive. Currently, the 38-year-old is in the Tarrant County Jail on one count of intoxication assault and two counts of intoxication manslaughter. His bail is currently set at $120,000. Police report that the charge for intoxication assault may be upgraded to intoxication manslaughter since the other woman died. Drunk driving accidents often involve serious injury or death and many times, it's innocent people who pay the price for another's reckless activity. Those who are injured in a drunk driving accident or those who have lost a loved one because someone chose to drink and drive do have recourse through the civil court system. An experienced attorney can provide more information on how to pursue compensation from the at-fault driver. That compensation might include claims for medical expenses, funeral costs, lost wages, pain and suffering, loss of companionship and more.
