A pickup truck in Southeast Travis County, Texas, went out of control and caused a three-vehicle crash that took one life. The accident happened out on Highway 183, and it occurred right around seven in the morning. After the wreck, the police had to close the road down for about five hours, opening it back up at noon.

The wreck appears to have happened for reasons that still aren’t fully known. The pickup truck that lost control was heading south, and it drove over into the opposing lanes. There, it ran into the back end of one vehicle, spinning it around and sending it out of control as well.

The accident wasn’t done, though, as the pickup then slammed into the third vehicle, another pickup, in a head-on collision. The driver of that vehicle was killed. He was just 23 years old. Those in the passenger vehicle appear to have survived.

The driver of the truck that allegedly caused the whole thing is 37 years old, and he’s in critical condition. He was taken to UMC Brackenridge.

Interestingly, there were bees being transported by one of the two pickup trucks. The person who owns the bees responded quickly after the wreck, though, and the police have told the public not to be alarmed, as the bees do not pose any threat to them.

After the accident, police did note that drivers should try to keep from becoming distracted while driving, keeping their attention on the road.

Those who have lost loved ones due to the actions of reckless drivers may be able to seek compensation for that loss.
