Drunk driving accidents often involve serious injury or death and many times, it’s innocent people who pay the price for another’s reckless activity. Those who are injured in a drunk driving accident or those who have lost a loved one because someone chose to drink and drive do have recourse through the civil court system. An experienced attorney can provide more information on how to pursue compensation from the at-fault driver. That compensation might include claims for medical expenses, funeral costs, lost wages, pain and suffering, loss of companionship and more.
